Washington Slagbaai

Washington Slagbaai National Park is definitely worth a visit. We do advise using a 4x4 car because of the sometimes rough roads and passages. Within the national park there are various diving and snorkeling spots and plenty of places to relax or picnic. If hiking is your thing, a stroll to the top of the Brandaris (241 meter high) is a beautiful challenge. You will be at the highest point of Bonaire. The walk takes roughly 2 to 3 hours and the route is well indicated. On a clear day you can see Curacao and Venezuela from the summit.

Kitesurfing

Bonaire is an amazing place to do kitesurfing. Bonaire has Atlantis beach, a location especially for kitesurfers. What makes this location unique is that the wind almost always blows offshore from the beach. Various kitesurf schools are active on the beach every day.

Windsurfing

Jibe City is a laid-back and cozy windsurf location on the east coast of Bonaire. You can rent windsurfing equipment or paddleboards, take lessons or just relax at the beautiful beach club and watch the freestyle windsurfers. Every Thursday evening there is live music and you can join the BBQ on the beach.

Bonaire is seen worldwide as one of the prime locations for windsurfing. The ideal conditions: warm weather, strong winds and a very shallow sea make this a unique place.

Donkey Sanctuary

The donkeys have been living on Bonaire for hundreds of years. The original population was brought to the island by the Spanish in the 17th century for all the hard work. When the more modern means of transport arrived, the donkeys became superfluous and were left to their fate. Donkey Sanctuary is a donkey shelter dedicated to the fate of the donkeys. Bonaire offers a protected and safe accommodation for all donkeys. You can make a tour through the park with your own car and move freely between the hundreds of donkeys. The donkeys are curious, friendly and love visitors. When you take some carrots, you make a lot of friends in a short while. A visit to the park supports the good work of the donkey care. 

Mangrove

The Mangrove and Kayak Information Center offers kayaking and snorkeling trips through the mangroves. Lac Bay Mangrove Forest is one of the best preserved mangrove forests in the Caribbean.

Zeilen & Vissen

There are several sailing and fishing companies on the island. Bonaire offers great opportunities for fishing or deep sea fishing. In addition, Bonaire is one of the top locations for the Caribbean's Bonefishing. A nice sailing trip is a nice experience. This is also fun to combine with a snorkeling excursion.
